The Texture of Dreams

Yogi February 12, 2018

Growing up, we all had visions of where our lives would be by the time we reached the age of the adults (mid-late 20s) that we looked up to. The houses, the cars, the careers - all of the variables that we considered to play part in what makes up an adult but as we grew, we realized how quickly time passes us by. Not only through time simulation but also through growth and gained perspective, expectations of how life would evolve changed with the times but the magnitude of dreams remains in tact with maintaining an aura of youth.

It feels that through maintaining youth of mental & physical stature, the vividity of dreams only grows with age. I can say from experience that the closer we get to walking the path represented in our dreams, the more real the dreams become - to the point that your dreams go beyond a vision and start to take life. The goal with this set became to personify a dream manifesting. We plant ideas in soil and hope that those ideas blossom into foundation that can house our ideal lives and the process, as many of us know, is tumultuous. The key is and always will be to continue to feed the soil and the seeds that grow from it will continue to sustain your growth forward.

I love shooting with Jaz (@jazmine_brinkley) because of her willingness to create something deeper than surface level, we always aim to provide substance to our audience(s). So this shoot, in its fine art styling, are a testament to something we have been building towards for the extent of our collaborations. Her skill as a creative director are unmatched and I look forward to sharing more ideas and concepts that we create in the near future.
